White Mourning Light is the second full length album by
Doomcave. The album is much "bigger" than its predecessor and yet has vastly improved in character and dynamics. It builds on the Doomcave sound with a vide variety of clean vocals, acoustic 6-string and piano parts and a story focused progression to the flow of the album. White Mourning Light was written and produced in 10 months, again from Vestgaard's small office studio in Perth, Australia, and was finally mastered by Dark Prod. Studios in Sweden. All instrument parts are performed by Vestgaard excluding drums and strings. The themes of the album focus heavily on
aggression this time around, aside from a few observational tracks such as 'Mirror, Flowing River', which is a song of vanity, or 'Starless Vigil' which is focused on loss. Specifically the aggressive tone comes from a need to find ways of moving on from hardship. The album is about using anger to change feelings you need to eliminate, eventually leading to clarity and detachment.
